 There is s Renter's Tax Relief Program for the Elderly and Disabled.   

To apply for the Renter's Rebate, the applicant must meet age and qualifying income limits.  He or she must be 65 years old or be certified disabled.  All income must be documented.  The maximum income for single applicants is $29,800 and the maximum income for married applicants is $36,500.  Applicants must show proof of all income. Disabled applicants must submit current written proof of their disability and income.

All applicants are required to present proof of expenses including rent, electric, gas, and fuel payments for the current calendar year.

To file an application, the applicant, a relative, or an agent must appear at the Assessor's office. located at 235 Grand Street beginning May 17th through September 15th.
